AARAMBH 3.0 - FLAGSHIP EVENT OF IEDC CEK Date: 4th & 5th January 2026


Aarambh 3.0 is the flagship event of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) at the College of Engineering Karunagappally. This dynamic two-day inter-college fest brought together 500+ students from across Kerala. The fest featured 10+ exciting events with a total prize pool of Rs.60,000+.

Aarambh 3.0 is more than just an event. It is a movement that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Whether you are a budding entrepreneur with a startup idea, a tech enthusiast eager to showcase your project, or simply someone passionate about innovation, Aarambh 3.0 provides the perfect platform to learn, grow, and make your mark.

PRE EVENT 1 - YANTHRA: Hardware Exhibition Date: 4th December 2025 | Venue: B206


As a prelude to Aarambh 3.0, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at the College of Engineering Karunagappally organized a Hardware Exhibition titled YANTHRA on 4 December 2025 at B206, under the IEDC Women Innovation initiative. A key highlight of the event was that the entire exhibition from planning to coordination and presentation was handled by female student volunteers, reflecting their leadership, confidence, and technical enthusiasm. The exhibition showcased a wide range of essential hardware components that form the foundation of modern computing systems. Each exhibit was supported by well-prepared charts created by the students, which helped simplify complex concepts and clearly explain the working principles and practical applications of the components. A video presentation on the evolution of computers was also screened during the exhibition. The exhibition was attended by students and faculty members from various departments, with visitors arriving class-wise according to a well-planned schedule. YANTHRA created an informative and inclusive learning environment on campus, benefiting both the presenters and the audience, while effectively highlighting the leadership potential and technical capabilities of women students in the field of technology.

PRE EVENT 2 - CREATING OUR FIRST ROBOT WITH AI Date: 2nd January 2026 | Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM | Mode: Online (Google Meet)

The second pre-event of AARAMBH 3.0, titled "Creating Our First Robot with AI," was conducted as an online hands-on workshop on 2 January 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and witnessed active participation from more than 80 attendees. The session was organized to introduce participants to the fundamentals of robotics integrated with artificial intelligence, focusing on real-world applications and practical understanding. The workshop was conducted by Athul Chandrasenan, Trainer at Zentroniq and Quadratech Innovations and Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Being an online event, the workshop ensured accessibility for a wide range of participants, allowing them to engage interactively, clarify doubts, and gain hands-on knowledge despite the virtual format. The pre-event successfully set the tone for AARAMBH 3.0 by providing a strong technical foundation and inspiring participants to explore innovation in robotics and artificial intelligence.

INAUGURATION Date: 4th January 2026


The Inauguration Ceremony of AARAMBH 3.0 was conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity. The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. Renjith S. R., Nodal Officer, IEDC, College of Engineering Karunagappally. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Smitha Dharan, Principal, College of Engineering Karunagappally. The formal Inauguration was carried out by Sri. P. K. Jayaprakash, President, Thodiyoor Grama Panchayat. The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr. Krishnakumar M, Assistant Manager, Kerala Startup Mission. Special Guest Addresses were delivered by Mr. Nixon Solomon, Founder & CEO, Techware Lab, and Mr. Arjun Babu, CEO, Marvellous Academy. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Malavika Sunil, IEDC Campus Lead.

ENTREPRENEUR TALK SESSION - INSIGHT Date: 4th January 2026 | Time: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM | Venue: Main Stage Speaker: Mr. Nixon Solomon, Founder and CEO, Techware Lab


The Entrepreneurship Talk Session was conducted as part of AARAMBH 3.0 on 04 January 2026 between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM at the Main Stage with the participation of 50 students. The session highlighted practical aspects of entrepreneurship and the role of artificial intelligence in startup development. Topics discussed included the impact of AI on modern entrepreneurship, real-world AI applications, essential skills for future professionals, and the significance of execution over ideas. Mr. Nixon Solomon also briefed participants on the support provided by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) through mentorship, incubation, funding, and exposure. The session was interactive and engaging, with a question-and-answer segment at the end. In recognition of his valuable contribution, a memento was presented to Mr. Nixon Solomon by the Principal.

UI/UX WORKSHOP Date: 4th January 2026 | Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM | Venue: EC Seminar Hall Speakers: Mr. Arjun Babu, CEO, Marvellous Academy | Ms. Vinitha, Marvellous Academy

The UI/UX Design Workshop was organized under AARAMBH 3.0 on 04 January 2026 at EC Seminar Hall with 115 students actively participating. Mr. Arjun Babu introduced the fundamentals of design and explained the concepts of UI and UX, their role in product development, and highlighted career opportunities available in the design industry. An interactive user flow activity was conducted, enabling participants to learn how to approach design from the user's point of view. Ms. Vinitha delivered a session focusing on learning strategies for UI/UX design, essential skills required in the field, and suitable learning paths for beginners. As a token of appreciation, a memento was presented to Mr. Arjun Babu by the Principal.

PRAYATNA: 24 HOUR HACKATHON Date: 4th January 2026 (2:00 PM) to 5th January 2026 (2:00 PM) | Venue: SDPK Hall

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK successfully conducted PRAYATNA, a national-level 24-hour hackathon. A Hackathon Workshop was conducted on 4th January 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, led by Aysha S, Chief Technology Officer at Whoyer, a Talrop venture. All 14 registered teams actively participated. PRAYATNA witnessed enthusiastic participation of 14 teams working on two real-world problem domains: Agriculture and Healthcare. Throughout the hackathon, participants received constant guidance from industry mentors including Athul Chandrasenan, Trainer at Zentroniq-Quadratech; N. Nikhil, Project Manager, Zentroniq-Quadratech; and Abhimanyu R. B., Junior Project Engineer, KDISC. A Cultural Night was organized between 11:00 PM and 12:30 AM featuring S. D. Alan, a magician and emerging mentalist from UKF College.

WEB3 WORKSHOP Date: 4th January 2026 | Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Venue: A Block Speakers: Nandhu Gopu, W3 Forge Lead | Adith KP, Webmaster, W3 Forge

The Introduction to Web3 and Blockchain Workshop was held on 04 January 2026 at A Block with around 70 students participating. The workshop began with an overview of the evolution of the web, explaining the transition from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0. The session then focused on the fundamentals of Blockchain, covering its working mechanism, historical development, and widely used platforms. Participants were also introduced to Solidity, followed by a hands-on session on the development of smart contracts. The workshop helped participants build a strong foundation in Web3, Blockchain, and Solidity, while encouraging them to further explore decentralized applications and emerging technologies.

RAHASYA: MENTALIST SHOW Date: 4th January 2026 | Time: 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM | Venue: Main Stage Performer: Mentalist Anandhu

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK organized a mentalism show titled RAHASYA on 4th January 2026, from 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM, at the Main Stage. The event featured the popular mentalist Anandhu, whose performance drew a large and enthusiastic audience. Anandhu interacted closely with the audience through a series of mind-reading and prediction-based acts, inviting several audience members onto the stage. Beyond entertainment, RAHASYA encouraged the audience to think about observation, perception, and the way the human mind works. As a token of appreciation, Renjith S R, Nodal Officer of IEDC, and Hrithya J, Assistant Nodal Officer of IEDC, honored Anandhu by presenting him with a memento.

CULTURAL NIGHT Date: 4th January 2026 | Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM | Venue: EC Block Main Stage Performers: DJ Lexa and Avathar Mohan

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK organized a lively cultural night on 4th January 2026 at the EC Block Main Stage. The cultural night was arranged as a refreshing break for students after their academic activities. The atmosphere quickly turned lively as the stage welcomed DJ artists DJ Lexa and Avathar Mohan. With more than 150 students present, the event became a space for students from different departments to come together, interact, and share moments of fun.

KALPANA: WEB DESIGNING COMPETITION Date: 5th January 2026 | Time: 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Venue: A Block Mentors: Nobin Sijo and R Sreehari

KALPANA, organized under AARAMBH 3.0, was a web designing competition featuring five teams, each consisting of two people from different colleges. The event focused on an open theme, allowing participants to create solutions for any real-life problem. The competition was conducted in two phases. In Phase 1 - UI/UX Design, teams created wireframes using tools such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Photoshop, or paper sketches. In Phase 2 - Website Build, teams transformed their UI designs into functional websites using HTML, CSS, and optional basic JavaScript.

CHAKRAVYUH: AUTO EXPO Date: 5th January 2026 | Time: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM | Venue: A Block and Main Ground Powered by: N1Concepts

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK organized an Auto Expo titled CHAKRAVYUH, powered by N1Concepts, on 5th January 2026. The expo featured a remarkable lineup of 20 modified and premium vehicles including BMW 5 Series, BMW 3 Series, Toyota Fortuner, full wrap Polo, bagged Polo, bagged i20, Honda City, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Baleno, Swift, Alto, Beat, and an electric BYD EV. The Auto Expo witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 300 attendees.

RANAM: ROBOWAR Date: 5th January 2026 | Venue: EC Block

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK organized a Robowar competition titled RANAM on 5th January 2026 at EC Block. Five teams participated, each bringing robots completely designed and built by students. Each robot was limited to 8 kg in weight and 35x35 cm in size. The matches were held inside a specially prepared 8x8 feet arena. The event was attended by more than 100 spectators, including many school students.

DAURAPATHAM: LINE FOLLOWER COMPETITION Date: 5th January 2026 | Venue: EC304 Total Prize Pool: Rs.7,000

The Line Follower Competition - Daurapatham, organized under AARAMBH 3.0, took place on 05 January 2026 at EC304, featuring four enthusiastic teams. The event attracted a crowd of over 100 school students, many of whom were witnessing a robotics competition for the very first time. The competition showcased robots created by students which autonomously navigated a track by sensing and following a black line.

METAL AND MAGIC: HARDWARE WORKSHOP Date: 5th January 2026 | Time: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM | Venue: Central Computing Centre Lab Speaker: Mr. Anwar Sadath, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, CEK

As part of Aarambh 3.0, IEDC CEK organized a Hardware Workshop titled METAL AND MAGIC on 5th January 2026 at the Central Computing Centre Lab. Due to the limited capacity of the venue, the workshop was divided into two batches - the first batch consisted of 48 participants, followed by a second batch of 38 participants. The key attraction was the CPU rebuilding activity, during which students learned the process of disassembling and reassembling a CPU. The use of videos to explain hardware components made complex concepts easier to understand.

ROBOTIC EXPO Date: 5th January 2026 | Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Venue: EC Seminar Hall

As part of Aarambh 3.0, a Robotic Expo was successfully conducted on 5th January 2026 at the EC Seminar Hall. Several innovative projects developed by students were exhibited including a robot head designed by Abhay Ganesh, a BMI calculating machine developed by EC students, a 3D printer, and a drone developed by students. All the exhibits displayed during the Robotic Expo were completely designed and developed by the students of the College of Engineering Karunagappally.

CLOSING CEREMONY Venue: SDPK Hall

The closing ceremony of AARAMBH 3.0 was held at SDPK Hall with a primary focus on announcing the results of the 24-hour national hackathon. The event was anchored by Bassam Kattoor. The welcome address was delivered by Anandhu Babu, Student Lead of IEDC. The thanksgiving address was delivered by Aaron M Sabu, the 24-hour hackathon lead. The vote of thanks was delivered by Malavika Sunil, Student Lead of IEDC. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph of all the hackathon teams and their mentors.

ASCEND'26 Date: 21st February 2026 | Venue: SDPK Hall and Seminar Hall


ASCEND'26 is a technology-focused initiative organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), College of Engineering Karunagappally, conducted on 21 February 2026. The event aimed to inspire school students to explore innovation and emerging technologies. It provided a platform for young minds to gain practical exposure in areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Robotics through interactive sessions and hands-on learning experiences, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial thinking.

INAUGURATION The Inauguration Ceremony of ASCEND'26 was held on 21 February at 9:30 AM in SDPK Hall. The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Renjith S R, Nodal Officer, IEDC. The inauguration was officially carried out by the Chief Guest, Mr. P. K. Jayaprakash, President, Thodiyoor Grama Panchayat. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Smitha Dharan, Principal, College of Engineering Karunagappally. The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Hridhya J, Assistant Nodal Officer, IEDC.

AI TOOLS WORKSHOP Date: 21st February 2026 | Time: 10:30 AM | Venue: SDPK Hall Speaker: Mr. Renjith S R, Nodal Officer, IEDC CEK


As part of ASCEND'26, an AI Tools Workshop was organized for school students on 21 February 2026 at SDPK Hall. A total of 129 students participated and were divided into two groups as the Robotics Workshop was conducted in parallel. Initially, 61 students attended the AI workshop while the remaining 68 participated in the Robotics session. The session was led by Mr. Renjith S R, who explained the basics of AI, its importance, real-life applications, and the ethical use of AI tools. Students were introduced to tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Gamma, There is an AI for That, and Wolfram Alpha, along with live demonstrations. The programme concluded with an ice-breaking activity making the session interactive and engaging.

A Robotics Workshop was conducted on 21 February 2026 at the Seminar Hall. A total of 129 students from Govt. HSS Karunagappally and Govt. HSS Thodiyoor participated. Aaron M Sabu introduced the basics of robotics, explaining its fundamental components and working principles. Various sensors and their applications were discussed, followed by an Arduino demonstration and a live simulation to help students visualize the functioning of robotic systems. M H Devanarayanan focused on developing logical thinking among the students, demonstrating the working of traffic lights using the Wokwi simulation platform and covering types of sensor data, IoT devices, and their advantages. A total of 129 students participated across both workshops. ASCEND'26 was a grand success, receiving positive feedback from both students and faculty of the participating schools.

The Women Innovation team under the IEDC at College of Engineering Karunagappally organized a motivational session titled "Tomorrow's Game Changers" on 25th July 2025 at the SDPK Hall. The event witnessed the active participation of 51 students from various departments. Ms. Anju Dinesh shared her personal journey from being an ordinary student to becoming a successful entrepreneur, highlighting the importance of self-belief, adaptability, and continuous learning. She also discussed the real-world challenges she faced while building her ventures and how perseverance and the right mindset helped her overcome them. The talk included insights on leadership, innovation in recruitment, and the evolving role of women in tech and business spaces. She encouraged the students to explore entrepreneurship not just as a career option, but as a mindset that enables problem-solving and creativity. A token of appreciation was presented to Ms. Anju Dinesh by Ms. Parvathy Ajith, Co-Lead of Women Innovation, on behalf of the IEDC CEK team.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at the College of Engineering Karunagappally organized a session titled "The Startup Spark Show - From Idea to Impact" on 10th September 2025 at the SDPK Hall from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 48 students from various departments. Mr. Renjith S R shared insights on the role of IEDC and Kerala Startup Mission in nurturing young innovators and entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of creativity, collaboration, and perseverance in building impactful startups. Mr. Nijin K Varghese delivered an engaging and motivational talk sharing his personal entrepreneurial journey, discussing the challenges faced in establishing startups, the significance of networking, and strategies to validate and grow innovative ideas. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and expressing their eagerness to contribute to the startup ecosystem.

IEDC INDUCTION PROGRAM FOR FRESHERS 

IEDC Student Branch College of Engineering Karunagappally conducted an induction program for newbies of the academic year 2020.The session was held on 3rd December from 2 pm to 4 pm[IST]. The webinar included with several sessions, was completed in 2 hours.  

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND HOW TO BENEFIT FROM IEDC

IEDC CEK organized a talk session with S MOHAMMED SHAFEEQ HAMEED- CEO OF DEXIMA CHEMICALS AND IEDC CEAL,CTO OF MOTIVE SPARK to give students more idea about what is entrepreneurship and how to use IEDC to young entrepreneurs.

POSTER DESIGNING COMPETITION

As a part of PRIDE MONTH celebration we organized a “POSTER DESIGNING COMPETITION” with the theme of pride month, Miss AJMIYA won the first prize .

TECH CAFE

"TECHCAFE" is an initiative of IEDC CEK itself which helps students gain knowledge on growing technologies and the business world. TECH CAFE happens every weekend, the topic is decided by the students themselves.

  • INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON

IEDC CEK conducted a series of webinars on "Introduction to Python" on behalf of TECHCAFE. Four sessions were conducted on different days and were handled by the students of CEK itself.

  • BASICS OF FINANCE

As per the demand of our students we organized a symposium on behalf of TECHCAFE on the topic, "Basics of Finance"    The session was arranged on 6th of June 2021 ,   via Google Meet at 7pm . 

The webinar was monitored by Ms. GOWRI MS,BA Economics Honors Student at Christ Deemed to be University,Bangalore. "Basics of Finance" has always been an exciting topic to indulge ourselves

  • BASICS OF DESIGNING USING ILLUSTRATOR

A webinar on "Basics of Designing Using Illustrator" on behalf of TECHCAFE. The session was handled by Cliffin Cletus, student of College of Engineering Karunagappally.

  • FOUNDATION ON LINUX

We introduced students to the world of Linux through a session on "Foundation on Linux" by Mr Arun Sreenivas, Software Development Engineer at Carestack.

A session taken by miss CHAITANYA LIZ ,student at NSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING PALAKAD to know more about git and github and that was an amazing session.on 14 th august 2021.
